"Ghost Herds" by Barbara Meyer

FIRST PLACE

This kite shows the rocky mountains and the herds of elk, deer, and antelope that Lewis and Clark would have seen in their trip west. This kite had the fourth highest score in the competition!

"Signal Delta" by Steve Cseplo

SECOND PLACE

A great flying kite - earning the highest flight score in the category. Steve is an architect and says "insanity" inspired this kite design... although it looks pretty sane to me!

"Double D" by Walt Mitchell

THIRD PLACE

Another entry by Walt, and once again he shows off his favorite pairings of color and design. This one made a great, big, bold impression in the sky!

"Bitty Butterfly Delta" by Donna Schenk

FOURTH PLACE

Exotic butterflies and moths inspired this keeless delta kite and it had an innovative cross spreader on this kite as well. Donna is a novice kitebuilder with a lot of potential!

"Black Delta Conye" by Todd Little

Like many of Todd's creations, this kite displays bold, asymetrical shapes, and splashes of color. This kite design is very stable and will fly well in a large variety of winds.

"Night Rainbow" by Will Smoot

Will is a novice kitebuider since 2000 and designed this kite for night flying. As you look at this kite, block out the black and you will see a very unusual shape in the sky!

"Pagota" by Forrest Hammond

Forrest has been buiding kites since 1993 and got the design of this kite from the book, "Super Kites I" by Neil Thorngood.
