Copywright is 1896.... It talks about Silk and other natural fiber fabrics and lines, but no talk about Polyester.

From Wikipedia

The first synthetic polyester, glycerine phthalate, was used in the First World War for waterproofing. Natural polyesters have been known since around 1830.

Dacron was invented in 1942.

BTW his term Parakite is defined as a tailless kite.

He was trying to write about lifting kites for weater instruments and KAP...

GREAT stuff in it!!!!!!

AND it only took me 3 years to find a copy I could afford that was in good condition.

Hey, how about some inside shots of the book for those of us who can not afford our own copy?

Just a thought.

The wife and I go to alot of estate sales, and you can find some pretty interesting book at them. My wife collects old cook books, I guess I'll have to start looking less at tools and more at the books.

Wow. And I thought my 28 was good going. Which ones have you got?

As I typed that question I thought it might be an idea to start a thread for people to post which books they have in their collection. http://www.kitebuilder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1898 for details.
