No new posts Project 14.0 - Dazzle
What better way to end 2022 and ring in 2023 than with David Ellison's super-long Dazzle kite? This bowed design, meant for medium-to-heavy winds, follows a 10:1 length-to-width ratio, so it's a full 12 meters long! The workshop will begin in December with the sail specs, so you'll have a month to work on your sail. Then David will lead step-by-step instructions beginning in January 2023.

No new posts Project 13.0 - Van Hienen Shield
Join Maarten Van Hienen of the Netherlands to make this large, flat kite with long tails. At approximately 110x158cm, it is a huge surface for your artwork. Add tails of 15 and 24 meters, and you've got a kite that takes up some space in the sky, and flies well in 5-20mph winds.

Presented by England's Paul and Helene Morgan (the SkyBums), this uniquely-shaped bowed kite presents a great opportunity to use up large fabric scraps. With a carbon fiber and fiberglass frame, this 5' tall kite flies at a high angle (like a delta) in a wide range of winds.

No new posts Project 10.0 - Jumbo Hata
The jumbo hata is an easy-to-build, great flying kite with a huge surface for graphics. The sail measures 60" on a side. Spars are a combination of solid carbon rods and filament wound epoxy tubes. Three 25' fuzzy tails can be added or subtracted to match the wind. This kite should fly in winds of 4-15mph.

No new posts Project 3.0 - Lil Genki
Presented by Kiteguy, this forum was host to our THIRD Online Kitebuilding class. The project was taught to the level of someone that has never built a kite of this sort. We will be looking at the kite as one built from plans, but not being constrained to the plan. There is an opportunity to take this design and run with it….in all directions. However, you will be challenged to stick with the basic wing shape, just to show how many different ways something can be built and still have a unique kite. Enter the forum to learn more.
