What is applique?
Applique comes from the french appliquer which means to “put on”. In applique, one layer of fabric is placed over another layer of fabric and is sewn in place. Applique opens a whole new design world to the kitebuilder.

Reverse applique is where the layers of fabric are sewn together and then the excess layers are cut away.
