Back in the 'early days' ALL the fittings for kites were made from plastic tubing. We concocted all kinds of ways to connect spars together at different angles. Now-a-days, there are many custom kite fittings to choose from; but don't forget about this stuff, sometimes it is the best material to use!

Some of the plastic tubings we carry:

CLEAR, BLACK, AND COLORED - Your basic plastic tubing available in many different internal and external diameters

CLEAR PLASTIC "MICRO" TUBING: Surgical grade plastic tubing in micro diameters. Works well with our micro fiberglass and graphite rod.

HEAT SHRINK TUBING: Black PVC tubing shrinks to form a smooth, tight, and flexible covering. We advise putting a small drop of CA adhesive inside of the tubing before shrinking. Build up the outside diameter of a spar to produce a snug fitting plastic tube, securing devise for ferrels, and some builders use it as a stopper. Resists sunlight. Shrink ratio is 2:1

REINFORCED NYLON: A clear plastic tubing with reinforcing strands a nylon running throughout.

SUPERTHANE: A very tough and durable plastic tubing. Very "grippy" and remains soft & flexible for a long time.

SEMI RIGID: Stiffer than our other plastic tubing. This is commonly used in the sleeves of windsocks, spinners, and drogues. Join both ends of the tub with a small piece of fiberglass. The color is milky white.
