I saw this drawing (click to enlarge) in an old, out of print chineese kite book. I think it might be cool to make the "complete" cells out of white fabric, the stripes out of slit red ripstop, and for the star section, make it from blue and hot cut "star-holes" in the fabric. Sure beats sewing around all those stars! I dont know how it would fly, but i think it could be worth the effort to find out. Let me know if you try it...... The CWHAPA fittings would work great for attaching the spreaders to the longerons.
