The 10th Annual Jamestown Kitefest will be held on June 12 and 13, 2004. This year will mark 10 years of this kite festival in Jamestown, ND. We will again be having a kite art exhibit held at the "Bunker" (former country clubhouse). Saturday, June 12 will be the main fly held at the Jamestown Soccer Fields. Several kiters from around the nation and Canada will be there. Some of the guest include Dave and Susan Gomberg, Al Sparling, Jerry Houk, Barb Meyer, Don Guick of Canada, several fliers from the Twin Cities area, Region 7 director Don Murphy, and Debbie Lenzen. The list continues to grow. This will be by far the largest fly Jamestown Park & Rec. has ever hosted. Sunday, June13 we will have a fun fly at our own flying field--"Wings on Strings Flying Field.” This field, which our club was given use of by the Corps of Engineers, has permanent tie downs for kites. Saturday night we will have an evening celebration at the Bunker (Kite Art Exhibit location.) We have arranged discounted lodging at the Jamestown College.
