G'day.
Steve has an interesting anecdote about Propeller kites. It's a good example of splice location on spars.
But, what about the leading edge of delta wings? Is there a best, or optimal, place to locate the splice?
For example:
144 cm leading edge spar.
Spar length: 82.5 cm
What do ya do? Use two spars each side. Cut 'em both equally and splice in the middle?
Or, use one full length, splice on remaining 60 cm and put the splice for or aft of the mid point of the wing?
Thanks

When using wood spars, I would use one full length, splice on remaining 60 cm and put the splice aft of the mid point of the wing? I did it with the short piece forward, once. It broke at the splice. _________________
