Attention all Kite Builders,
This year, on September 4/5, there will be a kite festival on top of Beech Mountain, North Carolina. Saturday will be the kite makers competition with Charlie Dunton as chief judge. There will be categories for new kite builders, and experienced builders. Judging will be on 4 main criteria: Flight, Design and Construction, Craftsmanship, and Beauty in the air. Separate category of Peoples Choice.
Sunday will be kids kite making, kite games, kite flying demonstrations of Sport and single line kites by WACKOS (Wings Across Carolina Kiting and Okra Society) and RAF (Richmond Air Force) members. Any kites entered in the kite building will have a photo posted and all in attendance are encouraged to vote for People's Choice to be announced at the end of the second day.

One of the host hotels, 4 Seasons at Beech (828)387-4211, is the Chamber representative for this event.

Mrs. Squid and I will be there!!!!! A kite fly on TOP of a mountain!!!!!
I will also be attending the first Mojo Workshop held by Ken McNiel at Blue Moon Kite Works just a few miles away on Monday the 6th of September.

are there cheap eats close...
I going to mojo as well, and just wonder how much of a good thing I can afford.
