Well, I think I did it. I went to a local hobby store to see if they had some of the clear flexible CA Glue that Pacer (Zap) makes. They didn't, but the store owner felt like talking (and, as usual, so did I.) Anyway, after talking about setting jewelry (the reason for needing the glue), and RC airplanes, we somehow got into kites (what a surprise.)
I described the AfterBurner and the Makua to her, and told her about getting to help some kids at some kitefests to get their POS's to fly. Anyway, she ended up asking me if I'd do a kite flying demonstration in a schoolyard near her store (to help advertise their hobby store), right here in Tracy - - and I said yes!
Oooo, what did I do? She's going to get an announcement put in the local paper, to start the demo at 7:00 on Friday (night), July 30. Now what do I do? I've been to a number of kitefests, and I know how to fly my kites for my own enjoyment, but how can I demonstrate enjoyment?
I was thinking about setting the AfterBurner up in the sky, to identify the place. Then maybe setting up the Adrenaline stack, the patriotic Mamba or the UL Moonie, and the patriotic Spirit. That would cover SLK's, DLK's, QLK's, stacks and tails. I'm not really into power kiting, but I do have a Prism Stylus 2.8.
Maybe I need some help.?!? I've never impressed anyone with my trick flying ability, and don't know that John and Mary Q. Public would understand them anyway, but - - well - - I'm kinda lost.
What did I get myself into?

Dorsal,
Don't worry about impressing people with kites. Probably most of them never seen a kite different than the little deltas from Wal-Mart for kids. They will probably be impressed just seeing your kites.

Dorsal, when your up to your ass in allagators and dont know what to do ,drain the swamp and ask for help.

sounds as though you have things under control with the kites you will domo.
Dont know the size of the field ,but when you are flying ,be good to have someone near by to explain what your doing. Could be a slug of people may show up at one time and some help can keep thier intrests. How about a few sled kites for little kids. mommys and dads may have an intrest in the trick stuff and the little ones wont.
I would take it that you have kiting friends near by ,dont you?

There will be a bunch more input from other forum members that have done this very same thing.

Dont be nervous.

Cliff
