Just wondering.... What if one took a soldering iron with a 1/8 wide tip and straight edge, then pass the drown down the length of the velcro to width chosen. Not melt it through, just melt the hooks or loops down to a smooth path.

Then cut along the melted path so the resulting piece would be finished on both sides..... hummm
