Wow, Squid, Hope that I get to see the new thingy you are planning on showing to Ronda. i will be at the fort Thursday, early evening. Unless I get lost.
I do not use a Purssic to fasten the lines to the spars on my Rocs. I use a Double Larks Head know. (Yes, Gary, a double larks head!) _________________

Gary, You showed me the trucker's hitch, but I didn't repeat it enough times to truly learn it. Couldn't find it on your web site. Is there an example online? _________________ Chuck

A Midshipman's hitch, or Taut Line hitch would be good ones to use for tensioning your bowlines.
Just thought I would toss this in. Where's Gary?

Nope! This one's way too complicated. I know Gary has a link but I'm not sure where it is at. Gary, where are you? Please help this man. He is pleading for some assistance.?!? If you are off just having fun and ignoring us, then that's not nice.

HERE is Gary's knot page, but the truckers hitch is not addressed.
Ashley's book of knots (page 344) has some truck lashings... Look at knot 2124 it is imular to the knot I use but use a overhand loop to start it and use a slipped overhand knot to end it insted of the lashing turns...
If you look at the mechanics of the knot the kiteguy provided or the ones I did, they are a 2:1 deadeye (pulley without a rolling wheel) so you can compress loads up to twice your body weight. Just make a temporay loop and step in it..... _________________ VR/
