It's just a battery powered soldering iron. I think it is a Weller. I got the least expensive one with the rechargeable battery. It works great for trimming threads and melting small holes. It has just enough heat to cut flightweight flying line, but that's about it. I actually got it to do soldering with. It generates more than enough heat for work with printed circuit boards.
Cauterizers are too delecate for me. I quickly break off the tip by doing something dumb like drip it... _________________ Gentle breezes...

that's why all of my hot cutting is done on a coated sheet of plywood on the floor. if it falls, the furthest it's gonna go is about a inch or two. _________________ If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. |
