I have heard this several times. The answer is usually "Read the FAQ"

I must be slow, because I read the FAQ several times and still could not figure it out. Finally, after much experimentation, things clicked.

Here is an email copy that I have sent to several people which seemed to help them. Maybe it will help you. Most people can start at #6.

Now, posting the photos in your messages is a different story.....

For posting album photos in messages I follow the same steps listed in Kiteguy's instructions, but then I do the following.

1) find the picture that I have just uploaded. Usually means clicking on the last page number in the upper right hand corner of the album category you are viewing.

2) Click on my picture; this results in opening up the photo in a new browser window.

3) The URL in the address bar of the new window is the link to your picture.

4) In your post you can use the [img][/img] tag combined with the above mentioned url and the photo will appear in your post.

as an example you can use
[img]http://www.kitebuilder.com/forums/album_pic.php?pic_id=416[/img]

and you will get full size picture of Steves Lewis and Clarke kite.

Hope that helps...

***Wdrwilson beat me by 10 minutes while i was on the phone***
Those directions are good enough to upload a picture to the album. But to post a pic in a message the way i do it...
If the picture is hosted in the Album open another internet browser session, then find and open the picture in the album.

-Highlight and copy the internet address from the address bar.
-then in your message click the 'Img' button
-press control-v to paste the address
-click the 'Img' button again to close the tags.
-Click preview at the bottom of the page to see if it worked

Hope this helps

For adding images to my posts I do what Bill does, but with a little twist.

As the photos I posted are most likley the most recent, to find their URL once at the Category I posted them in if I dont see them I will sort by Time and Decending order. This puts the most recently posted photos first.

BTW to save space I will grab the url of the thumbnail insted of the photo to put in my post but provide the URL of the photo for more detail....

I hope this helps.

To see the codes that people used in their post just click on the Quote button above the message and all the codes will be reveiled to you....

good instruction here - thanks guys. I will revise the faq's with this info... I guess it can be a little tricky the first time around.

Another shortcut: When you paste in the URL of the image, highlight the URL in the post and then hit the Img button - the forum automatically inserts the [Img] and [/Img] before and after the address.

Or right click a picture on the web then then left click PROPERTIES. Right click ADDRESS (URL) and left click SELECT ALL. Now with the address all blue highited right click the blue area then left click COPY. Then after clciking IMG icon above where you are typing your post right click right after the [img] then left click PASTE, then you click the IMG icon again. Then it's easy to get results like this.

Due to lack of participation in the rating feature of the Photo Album, I reconfigured the album to display the most recently posted picture first -- rather that the photo with the highest rating.

I still encourage everyone to rate and comment on the photos...
