That's the beauty of a 4 line traction/power kite, you can control how much pull there is by adjusting the tension on the brake lines.

The plans call for 4 line.

You can make it a 2 line by simply connecting both bridle lines on the left side to your left control line and the same for the right.

Also i found a great picture to demonstrate the difference between the 5 and 9b Angle of Attack and the sail shape.
