Out of curriosity, who is planning to go to AKA Nationals in Seaside, OR this year? Since it lasts a week, we could set up a get together for dinner or beer, or set up a fly (we could put the pics on this web site). It could even be a chance for an online class to get all the kites from that class together.
Since it's only 80 miles away for me, I'm obviously going, and I expect all the west coast people to show up.

dpb.....I'm planning on attending. I was wondering how we'd be able to recognize other members of the kitebuilders forum.
Don't know much about Seaside, Oregon. I was there once. Nice beach, nice town, a pretty decent kite shop about a block east of the Shilo hotel.
I'm in favor of any sort of get together for all the forum fliers.

Dave,
My wife, Cathy, and I are planning to attend. We have reservations at the host hotel in Seaside from Sunday to Sunday.
There may be very few representatives from Wings Over Washington Kite Club. We would love to meet some local people and join in some social events.
In our young, pre-marriage years Cathy and I spent some time in Seaside. We are both graduates of WSU and grew up in the Northwest, so we're familiar with the area. But that was a long time ago, and now we have few opportunites to visit the west coast.
We are really looking forward to this convention. _________________ Mike Mosman

we, for all events should (if we choose to) make up some name tags with our screen names and our real names on them....beyond if someone there could scope out the area we could all meet at a resturant or something (starbucks?) at a pre arranged time...
just a thought...

I can think of a dozen ways to get in touch:
I can announce my Hotel and people can leave a message when they
arrive.
We can have an "I'm Here" message board in the main hotel lobby.
We could agree to meet at a scheduled event.
One of use could put on a class, lecture, demo, etc and eveyone comes.
We could have someone arrange dinner, drinks, etc and everyone
sends them info.
etc, ad nausium
I believe we can work out something; we have enough time.

I'll be there! Again I will be runnign the Comprehensive Kitemaking Competition...... I hope to see many kites from this forum
A "get together" sounds like a good idea and as far as pins or shirts or hats, I'm working on it! We will have them available soon...
