I went looking for one of those....and I I could find was a thing that looks like a punch that you hit with a hammer...not to mention the only grommetts I can find around here are the tiny ones which work for something but 200 lb line will barely fit through it......
my questions are 1 where can I find a grommet press and 2 where can I get some decient size grommetts?
thanks,

Bosun's locker????
Seriously... Try Steve at the Kite Studio. I could not find them in the online catalog, but I know he carries them.
I try to stay away from hardware as much as possiable, but sometimes it is nessesary.
I just don't like hard parts on my sails... Call me wierd, but that is the way I am. _________________ VR/

I would check Steve first. If he doesn't have what you want, then check stores who specialize in outdoor gear like tents (e.g. REI), and sailmaker shops (for sailboats). Believe me that ship's sails are meant to take a lot more stress then we will ever put on a kite (unless you intend to pull a 40 ft, teak hulled ketch around the Pacific with your kite).

BTW what was the grommet press used for in the class?
I assume putting grommets in sails of kites, but it could have been used for other purposes... _________________ VR/

Where can I buy both a punch and eyelet setting tool? I've got a bunch of 1/8 inch eyelets that is much harder than the usual brass eyelet, and the pliers just don't cut it. I've been burning a hole using a soldering iron but iit would certainly be great to do everything all at once.
Thanks. _________________ Gentle breezes...
