I want to tie small loops of bridle to my spars and then glue them. When I dissassemble my kite I can undo the spars at the ferrels without losing my bridles connections.
What knot should I use? _________________ Randy

Randy,
Welcome to your first Century!!!!! 100 Posts!!!!
I have used just a series of half hitches. Tie them over an extra loop of line, then when you have tied the last half hitch, you can put the bitter end of your line in the loop and draw it under the half hitches to hide it...
Or if your spars are hollow, you can reinforce them and drill a hole in them and hide a stopper knot (I prefer a double figure of eight) inside the spar. I used this for the bow lines on my Thomas Jefferson kite that you helped me fly on its maden voyage. _________________ VR/

OK you got me Kitesquid. I went back and reread my post to make sure I had not mispelled 'Tautline' You guys are so funny!
I am serious about what a wonderful list of knots and hitches you posted. I love it when I meet a fellow 'knothead'. Keep tossing the humor at us and maybe the next time I will get it. Sometimes, I'm a bit slooowww.
What's (Big Red) F7? And, why do you hate it??
Kitepoor, what kite of a kite are you talking about that you are wanting to 'tie small loop of bridle to the spars and then glue them'?
Just curious cause I don't know if anything I would suggest at this point in time would be any better than what Kitesquid suggested.

I am building a roller about 8' x 8' I still have a small supply of wrapped Carbon shafts that I want to use for spars. (some of them are Walmart Korean arrows that I paid about $3.00 each for)
So I had in mind to use lots of bridle lines to support the undersized spars for this kite. I also wanted to try my hand at a cascading bridle. It looks like the ultimate in bridle adjustability. Except I dislike the stainless steel rings, and hope to come up with another solution before the kite is complete. (a smaller item that would be less likely to hang up on other bridle lines)
I live in the land of no wind, but I want to be able to fly the kite when my family takes the beach trip. _________________ Randy

Depending on the spar......... If I am using SkyShark PX00 spars, I reinforce inside with about 2" piece of .2400 pultrude tube...
This is the system I used on the Iris Edo and the Thomas Jefferson Edo kites you have seen...
On the Iris Edo I also thread wrapped the spars where I drilled them to add strength.
If some other spar, I would probally thread wrap, or epoxy on some Carbon fibers... It all depends on the spar I am working with... _________________ VR/

It is Spell Check in Microsoft products.... When I type my fingers move faster than my brain and I misspell a lot of words because of that.
When I type about 10% of the words are misspelled.... That is why I hate F7..... _________________ VR/

get thread wrap stuff and the epoxy sealer for thread wrap from mudhole?
http://www.mudhole.com/default.html
some of their stuff, or do you have another better alternative?
So just buy and epoxy the next smaller size Carbon rod inside and then thread wrap?
Do you glue that knot in place, or just let it rest inside? _________________ Randy

Yes, that is what I did.... I made a guage to make sure that the insert was epoxied, epoxyd, epoxyed... inplace to allow a space for the knot to hide under the end cap...

The double figure of eight knot float inside the space left above incase I need to remove it or whatever incase I break a spar..
ALWAYS plan on breaking parts at bad times.... Thomas Jefferson taught me that lesson.... _________________ VR/
