Hey everyone,
We are having an inaugural event in Lincoln City. The following is a press release from the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau. Also, Deb Cooley and I will be teaching classes on how to make simple, low-cost kites during the four day event. Anyone is invited to come and participate. We are hoping for bad weather (outside) so families will have to come and see what we have scheduled.
Look forward to seeing some of you here. Be sure to stop by and say 'HI' to me and everyone.

OREGON'S PREMIER INDOOR KITE FESTIVAL
Lincoln City, OR - On March 24th through the 27th Lincoln City will host Oregon's Premier Indoor Windless Kite Festival, Soaring Without Wind. Yes, it's true. If you have the right kite and know how to do it, you can fly kites indoors without wind---and have great fun even if the weather outside is frightful! So everyone can enjoy this great sport, Lincoln City is bringing 5 expert indoor kite fliers from Washington and California to demonstrate the art and teach kids of all ages how to soar without wind. The festival will be held at Taft High School at 3780 SE Spyglass Ridge, just two blocks east of Highway 101 at High School Drive from 1 to 6 p.m. each day.
Among the featured fliers and teachers are Lee and Debbie Park from Santa Clarita, CA, who have combined artistic gymnastics, aerial dance, and hand-balancing maneuvers with indoor kite flying. The result is not
only expert indoor windless kite flying, but also an awe-inspiring aerial ballet reminiscent of shows like Cirque du Soleil. Lee and Debbie were the closing act for the American Kitefliers Association convention last year in Dayton, OH. They are coming directly from Germany where they performed at the 2004 World Figure Skating Championships.
For a glimpse of what you will see, visit their website at www.indoorkiteflying.com.
This great family entertainment and education is available to everyone during spring break for only $1 for admission ($2 for a family of two adults and children 15 and under) for all four days and $1 for the materials to build your own kite for flying.
Bring the whole family for Spring Break!
The festival is sponsored by Shilo Inn Oceanfront Resort, the Ashley Inn, Palace Inn & Suites, the Sea Horse Oceanfront Lodging, Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center, and the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau.
