Oh yeah, I always use Harold's Battle Braid® to bridle them as I don’t like to get my bridle cut in the heat of a battle, or by some kid with a $1 Wal-Mart kite.

Kite Line in FUN colors...................

Like Mint Death. It makes your cut line smell all fresh and minty, like a York Pepermint Patty Very Happy

And

Pink Death or some people call it "Bloddy Hands"

Or

Sky Blue Death..............

I found some line from another source (not Kite Studio) that I kinda like better than Black Death. The line I found comes in Wierd colors, but sometimes it comes with a knot in the middle of the line Sad so I spool it off the reel in the kite shop BEFORE I buy it.

If Steve gives me permission, I will tell you what my "Mystery Line" comes from.....

hey squid.... my Black Death vs your Bloddy Fingers.... sounds like a challenge! Our Black Death has won so many battles and i have so much confidence that I will say, sure, post your source!

But really.... the key to winning any Rok battle is 'how' you use your line..... and a little luck! Wink

I agree that it is not what tool you use, but it is how you use it.

I have two sources of battle braid.

#1 Premier Kites 150# test braided polyester line available at MOST kite shops. It is Venetian blind cord, but caveat emptor as there might be knots in it. It is sold by length, but it does not have to be a single piece, so spool it off and rewind it BEFORE you buy it!!!!!!!!!!

#2 there is a Venetian blind manufacturer about 40 miles from my house and they sold me a roll of cord. They are 1000 yards long so I am set for a battle or two. I spool some off onto a winder so I can ENGAGE!!!!!
