Speaking of parts, and stuff like that.... I would kind of like to have some fittings like I saw used on that Fiddler, Rose, and River kite. Let me see, how long would it take the "Old Man" to carve out 80 sets of those...... Very Happy

yep, this is a pretty sexy fitting.... no, not the pink fitting shirt in the background... the silver one in the front!

I'll post a couple other pictures of it later today. Originally I was going to just make pockets for the .375" spars, but 1.5" webbing was too small and 2" webbing looked too big and bulky, so the Old Man and I put our heads together and came up with this new fitting!

Just sew a folded 1/2" piece of edge binding to the sail with a 1/2 aluminum o-ring. The o-ring slips over the aluminum fitting and is secured in place with an aluminum washer and plastic thumb screw. This way the fitting stays on the kite but is still removable if it needs to be. The "pin" that the ring slides over has enough room to add a Darcon Pigtail (larksheaded) - the washer prevents the pigtail from sliding off.... and the pig tail goes through a single hole to the front of the kite. The bridle and/or tail is attached to the pigtail.

Nice and clean, functional, and adaptable to many kites. If you want adustability to add length to the spar, it could also be made so that the thumb screw goes all the way through.

btw... that is the old man in the background working on another cutom fitting for a guy who asked for a clean way to insert a 3/4" diameter spar into a pocket... what we came up with is an ABS Wedgie!

Can Tony make it out of ABS, Durlin, Glass filled Nylon or some other plastic insted of Aluinum????
