Steve.....can the T fittings you sell be made with a smaller gap between the holes where they pass at 90 degree angles, especially the ones with the screw on connectors?
I'm using the T connectors on the enigma. The standard ones work well for framing the main sails, where they connect spars that more or less are on the same plane. They don't work so well for connecting spars which are perpendicular the the main sail. Specifically, if you look at the picture of Walt's Enigma, the T connectors which attach the intermediate sails (pink or rasberry in the picture) to the risers up from the main sails.
The connectors I got seem to be OK, but the shift the spar that runs the length of the intermediate sail about 1/4 inch out from the center of the sail.
Thanks,

Ray - You would undoubtedly get a faster response if you emailed Steve directly. I've noticed he doesn't contract sales or work directly from the Forum pages. _________________ "The wind is the perfect reminder of God.

hey ray... sure, we can do anything!
I assume you are typing about this fitting?
Let me know the dimensions you need and we'll make it to order.
Without guidlines, we just make them to the "It looks about right" specification..... _________________ Steve Ferrel

It appears as if the existing fitting has about a 1/4 inch space between the two perpendicular hole. What I would like would be a fitting for .2400 rods with almost no space between the perpendicular holes. Essentially I would like the two rods to touch or almost touch. The fitting would just be used to hold them at right angles, and to snug them up to the rods passing thru them. I'd then like the overal length of the fitting to be reduced by the 1/4 inch or so worth of material so the fitting ends up being that much shorter.
Does this sound possible? Do you think it would work, AND hold the spars in place? |
