|
|
Back in November, some of you might have been interested in a post (on rec.kites) by Jillynne stating:
"I have 5,083 yards of the hard to find Toray's FX40K fabric in white
for sale. I purchased it a year ago for $4.60 a yard. I am asking
$3.00 a yard. It is in excellent, untouched condition."
The problem is: she isn't in the business of cutting/selling it in partial rolls. She'll only sell whole rolls.
I have been talking to Steve at www.kitebuilder.com, and he has graciously agreed to allow me to determine if there
is enough interest for this fabric. If there is enough interest (i.e. enough for a whole roll or more), Steve would
be willing to parcel out the fabric based on pre-orders.
The prices will be: $100 for 30 yards, or $35 for 10 yards, plus shipping.
If you have an interest in purchasing a 30 or 10 yard roll (or multiple thereof), please click on this eMail Link swikel@flash.net?Subject=I_am_interested_in_the_Toray! and let me know how many yards you would commit to purchasing. If there is enough interest, I will contact Steve at www.kitebuilder.com and have him purchase enough
to cover all the orders.
Please don't respond to this if you don't have a desire to follow-through and actually purchase some of this fabric.
I AM NOT TAKING ORDERS (or Pre-Orders) AT THIS TIME - THIS IS JUST TO SEE IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST!
Disclaimer: I have no vested interest in this arrangement.

P.S. This same message has been posted to GWTW, KiteConnection, and rec.kites. If there are other kite-related forums that this needs to be posted to, please eMail me and let me know. _________________ Spence

The cloth is White, .50 ounce polyester.
The width is 45 inches.
Each roll is 900-1000 yards.

Steve - This is on a 45 inch wide bolt. right?
Am I right to guess about 3/4" selvage per edge?
Hmmm - I see a fleet of White Pyro Ghosts floating in the sky. _________________ Dennis

Ummm, there is a group in Norway that is making a flock of Pyro Ghosts as a group project. Perhaps it is time to do the same on this side of the big pond! _________________ Kites + Kids = Education |

I think I might be done with this monster in time to build a Standard-size Pyro. If the idea goes thru, I'd be happy to lend a hand by sharing my material usage drawing. _________________ Dennis |

Well, with Steve working on the 'shopping cart' problem, and then the rest of the problems with his ISP, and now switching over to the new ISP - if everything goes OK he should be contacting Jillynne soon...

yep... bummer. But the end result will be better for everyone. More space, more bandwidth, and total compatibility with our sowtware.
On the WHITE POLY.... yes the deal will happen. I just got more sample cloth in today and sent some off to those who requested it. Most of my time right now has been on the phone taking orders and to fixing these computer problems... as soon as online ordering is back up, the fabric will be available. I dont know how I handeled all these phone orders before the web! Everything takes so much longer...
