Does anyone know if the Smithsonian Kitefly on March 27 will be near the Washington Monument this year or will they have us closer to the Capitol like last year? Question

I'm one of the worker dudes for this competition! Jon Burkhart has been the head judge in the past. I also sent him a message regarding the question about this year's location.

I forgot that Jon is usualy head judge at Smithsonian!!!!!

Good News! The Smithsonian Kite Festival returns to the monument this year!

Go to the Festival's webpage for more information.

One interesting change this year, there will be a separate little competiton for volunteers! Thats right... in the past, if you volunteered it was difficult if not impossible to enter a kite in the kitebuilding competition. Well, it looks like the organizers were paying attention! I don't know exactly who will judge this competition though... Wink

But I am sure it will be a good show.

So... I will be there, will you?
