There are several kite spar charts on the web but most do not refrence wood:

It is difficult to include wood spars into these charts. The problem is, is that there are so many types of wood! Each have different stiffnesses... even within the same species, depending on the grain, the stiffness varies.

Ramin dowels are usually straighter but not as stiff as some other "hardwoods". Man made products are much more consistent and easier to reference. However, wood is cheap and very often a great spar choice for small to medum sized kites.

One of my goals this year (2004) is to revise our spar chart to include stiffness to weight ratios AND a reference to every fitting that fits every spar.....

Thanks for the links on spar info, Kitesquid. The one on sharkfiles is just what I needed. I'm a newbie at kite building and when I saw plan specs requiring skyshark P300 for example, I really had no idea what size it was compared to other spars, so, no way could I make a decision on switching the framing material. This info will help me make some informed decisions.
