On January 10-11, the Richmond Air Force kite club in Richmond, VA will host Cliff Quinn presenting the Carl Crowell Crossdeck cellular kite.
This is a fun bunch of people and the Sandston Rec Center is a terrific place for a kite making workshop.

nope, at Cliffs house. It is about 10 miles down the road. Cliff was just here at the store asking me to give him a crash course on how to log into this forum..... Seems he was having troubles at home.
Watch for his name to appear here very soon.... _________________ Steve Ferrel

My work is here, so I will stay. I did have job offers in Mooristown NJ, but the cost of living there scared me.
MrsSquid is an accountant, so she could work anywhere as there are always beans to count.
Steve,
If I lived 10 minutes from your shop, MrsSquid would have to deliver my dinners there as I would not make it home most evenings.
Kite parts and cigars..................... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm
The nearist kite builder to me is Jim Cosca at about a 45 minute drive.....
To far to just hang out, and he does not enjoy a good stogie very often... _________________ VR/

|
|
I'm pretty bummed out that I couldn't attend the kitemaking session in Richmond last weekend. I'd really like to attend one of these (and the kite they were making looked awesome). I am in Raleigh.
I can't see myself getting a book that says how to make a kite and leaving the instructions up to my interpretation and actually succeeding. A little hands on before following a plan is going to go a long way to success I think.
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend any events until after Feb 15 due to work obligations.
Lemme know if there is anything else coming up in the region.
Sincerely
Gregg
