Hi Don. Welcome to the best forums around.
Do you really live in Stone Henge? A bit drafty, isn't it? Rolling Eyes
Or do you live in Salisbury or otherwise just nearby the Henge? I really wish I had a kite with me in 2002 when I was there. Nice place to fly Smile

We thought spring arrive when we went two weeks with warm, nice wather. Then late last week winter decided to perform a re-run. We've got a few cm of snow again, -10 celcius temps, and overcast. <sigh>

Cheers,
P.

Well Dave I don't know about Portland but up North with this weekend's weather the cherry blossoms have been blown off the trees. I spent half an hour chasing paper from my toppled recycle barrel. What a mess!

Hey, when I said that Cherry Blossoms were everywhere, I meant everywhere (not just on the trees). At work, we have numerous cherry trees. Last week, when the wind came up, we watched a pink blizzard just out side the cafeteria. it was beautiful (though I am not sure the grounds keepers felt the same way).

Hi P

I live about an hours walk from "The Stones" or about 10 mins in the car.
The weather here is quite good at the moment warm but no sunshine.
The wife and i were at Fort Worden the other week and the weather was fantastic, it only rained on the day we flew home.
And we had a "FANTASTIC " time at Fort Worden, saw a lot of old friends and made some new ones.
We also Shocked a few people who didnt know that we were turning up. Very Happy

So glad you have joined us on the FORUM! It is my understanding that the officials at Stonehenge really frown on kite flying at the site. Is this true or not?

Anyway, it was great fun making you 'scream like a girl' at the Fort! I will leave it to you to tell the rest of the group what this means. Very Happy Twisted Evil Shocked

I really liked that you brought the Orcon box with you to the Fort. It was wonderful. Did the pics turn out?

Gotta go for now. We are having our 2nd Annual Windless Kite Festival and the group is meeting for dinner. Lam Hoac, John Barressi, Penny Lingenfelter, Lee & Debbie Park, and others. I am too tired from making kites with kids to think. But, I am not too tired to not go PARTY. More on this later.

Hey, sorry about diverting this thread. So, back to the original thought. It is SPRING BREAK in Oregon. The weather was supposed to be RAINY and NASTY. We scheduled the 2nd Annual Windless Kite Festival so that visitors to this area could have an indoor activity to enjoy. But, the weather has not cooperated. We have had beautiful blue skies with a few clouds and just a few splashes of rain. Not enough to make people run for cover. So, the attendance has been a little disappointing. Oh well, we have Friday and Saturday to go. On Saturday the Indoor competition will be held. Fliers from the NW, Canada, the Netherlands, and other parts of the world are in attendance. WOW!! I can hardly believe that my small town has managed to draw such a great group of people here to demonstrate and compete. Wish you all could be here. You can check out Kitelife for pics. Anyway, I need to get going. More on this later. Time to party! Oh. I did that last night. Oh well, gotta enjoy the extra company while I can.
