I use one of these when I'm sewing it really helps me a lot to have a large flat area adjacent to the needle.

I just found out about this anybody else using one or have other suggestions?

Click the images above for more info.

I use the extension table that is pictured in the top photo.

I haven't made any kites, yet. I got my machine a few months ago and I'm currently learning to sew. I have taken a couple of quilting classes and I find it is easier to do smaller projects with a large flat surface.

The other great thing about the upper table is it is clear and you can put a light source below it and you have a nice ligth table.

I was at a sewing class and one of the gals told me I could have gone to a local glass shop that would have fabricated one for half the price. But that info was a little late, hehe.

The only other thing that I like but don't have is a sewing table that allows the bottom of your machine to rest level with the table. I tried one out on a larger quilt and it worked great, even better than the plexiglass table.

For smaller projects and portability the smaller table can't be beat.

Mine is similar to the top one. However, I made it myself. I got a piece of Formica topped sink cutout from a kitchen counter top. Got it at a garage sale for 50 cents. I made the cutout to match my machine, and put some hunks of an old broom handle for legs. I did go to the store to get some plastic gliders to fasten to the bottom of the "legs". It does NOT work as a light table, though! Speak to the hand

I have made two like the "Sew-Steady" but much bigger.

I bought some acrlic sheet at the BORG (home depot) and cut it with a router.

I rounded the edges.

but you should see the ones that Glenn Haynes made on a CNC router or sign maker... Nice!!!!!!!!!!

$119 for that piece of molded plastic?? And $39 more for a fluorescent bulb?? Holy $#!^, I'm in the wrong business. And to think, I only paid $97 for the entire pressed-wood sewing cabinet, now I have an opportunity to more than double my costs by placing a piece of "patent pending" molded plastic on top of it. Shocked

I noticed the makers of the P.E.T. live in Santa Cruz, CA. That explains quite a bit to the rest of us that live near the Bay Area. Rolling Eyes
