I still want to see the inflation system. It was hanging on the wall at MAKR and I didn't get a chance to get a close look at it. Confused

5 pockets equally spaced about 6" wide each from the back side of the smilie face. With an internal flap overlapping about 8" or so to create a valve. Similar to the gomberg bugs.

I think it was 4 air intakes, spaced over 16 gores, so one intake every quarter. Applique needs to be on the untethered side to inflate visually. But the applique is really hard to place visually. Round surface and all.

Air intakes on Face Ball is basical two same pattern peices with an opening at each end. Once inflated the air pressure inside the ball holds the vents closed, and the air just follows the outside curve of the ball. On the last 8' patch ball we tried a slightly different vent. It has a "facing" or "sleeve" on it, sort of like a Megabite mouth opening. When deflating we just have to pull the sleeve wrong side out and fold from the rear.

I am glad Face Ball is having a good time. I miss him. I really wasn't ready to let him go, but MAKR deserved a nice Raffle item. Unfortunately I have been swamped and have not had time to build something special. When we went through our bag, Face Ball was the only thing new enough to offer. He does need friends, though. Keep us posted on how he is doing without us.
