I and the Phantom had a wonderful time at MAKR. Especially, when we were able to get ourselves and our luggage in the same spot at the same time. Good thing we packed a set of clothes in our carry-ons. No one mentioned how beautiful the area is that we were at. It was a little hard to appreciate on our arrival due to the snow flurries and us having no gloves!! No one told us to bring gloves. Anyway, as the weekend progressed, the weather cleared and we ended with sunshine and something like WARMTH happening from the sky. Wow. On Sunday at lunch we saw THREE Bald Eagles flying over the river, just soaring on the thermals. It was awesome.
Yes, being a newbie was fun. NO ONE REALLY KNEW ME! Well, a few people did but they didn't bother to warn the ones that didn't know me that they should head in a different direction when they saw me coming. Anyway, on Saturday night I BUGGED everyone. A naked nametag is a lonely sight. No one went home without being bugged.
I have to come up with a different kite to teach so I will be invited back again. Gotta go, need to design it. More later.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention Grant's kind loan of a sewing machine. I really enjoyed making my kite bag in Paul Feiber's class.
Oh, and I was the winner of the envelope decorating contest. I was awarded a GOLD Tiara and I wore it the entire weekend. Barb told me she thought I would wear it so that was why she gave it to me. When the Phantom and I started our trek home, I found a 3 year old girl to give it to when we were at O'Hare. No wise cracks about there not being much difference between her age and my mental age.
Anyway, I could talk more but I will give someone else a chance to get a word or two in for now. Gotta go,
knot(tiest)ronda
PS John Karol says I am his 'MINI ME'. We had fun. |
