Spring has come early to the Northwest. Cherry Blossoms are everywhere.

Normally here in Michigan the sight of a Robin is a sign of Spring. They got a rude awakening this morning with an inch and a half of fresh snow... _________________ Mark

Sunday is the 1st day of spring and the weather forecast for Phila. is rain with a possibility of some snow.
I wish Mother Nature would make up her mind already!
Good winds...Charlie |

Here in my part of CT, the robins winter over, usually in the woods. I go by the first call of the red wing blackbird, and the fact that I can't see my feeder since it is full of blackbirds and grackels now. That was earlier this week.

Hi Snoopy, Know what you mean, I grew up in Fairfield and know the signs you talk about. Now in PA. and the signs come a little earlier here. Havent seen the RW blackbirds yet. Just got back from a Florida vacation , 75 deg. to 30 deg . here. I hate it. Did get a lot of kite flying in while there. Will now start to do some kite building before the weather turns nice. The Smithsonian Festival in Wash. DC. kicks off my kite flying season. If you have an opportunity to go to that fly dont miss it it's great.

I've seen a few robins about 3 weeks ago. I think they were lost. We had a few warm days then. We had probably another 30cm of snow since then. I hope they found a place to hide.
The snow is slowly melting now. _________________ Smarties

Well Dave I don't know about Portland but up North with this weekend's weather the cherry blossoms have been blown off the trees. I spent half an hour chasing paper from my toppled recycle barrel. What a mess! _________________ Robkite
