I guess the venturi is an important part of the system...
I just about passed out trying to use a straw to blow on a sharpie.

This is too cool... While my wife was at Loomis Art Store today she picked up a five pack of Blo-Pens for me Very Happy Very Happy

Wow... what a cool idea Don... This is great fun, although I am little winded after playing with them for an hour or so.. Embarassed

I started with just a simple circle, then tried to make it look like a sphere, then added a gold halo, then pink background, then gold and blue rings... hahaha what a blast.

The Dieppe Kite Festival theme is Universe.. hmmmm..

I wonder if inks of this type are available in bottles. If so, using my airbrush would definitely become an option.
Maybe if I jammed the airbrush into the "blow" end of the blopen, I could get the same result??

Well, this thread and SteveF's link to the stained glass site motivated me enough to finally get off my butt and go get some stuff. I found some paint called Createx. It's a water based, airbrush fabric paint which can be be heatseat by iron to waterproof it.. I bought some opaque black and white, some pearlized purple, and florescent pink.
I'm not a very good airbrusher and I'm not too experieneced, but I'm going to give it my best shot. I figured those stained glass patterns would look best if done in a combination of applique and airbrushing.
By the end of today I should have some pieces ready for weather testing. I'll stick them to the side of my house and leave 'em there for a week or two.

Cheers
P.

I have to admit that I used a can of compressed air for some of this Very Happy I have a small pancake compressor in the basement that I can use as a source of air. The Sharpies will probably run out pretty quickly.. maybe an airbrush is worth it...

The other thing you can do is use Design Master spray paint. You can spray it into a jar or ink well and use it through your airbrush...

Watch out on that air compresor and airburshes.......

Airbrush compressors are oil free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most air compressers pass some oil thru them and that will make a mess of anything you are spraying thru an airbrush.
