Grant,
Make sure that you follow the signs for Shediac and not Sheridac. You may not end up at the same place.
|
OK. Lets say hypothetically, that someone accidently got reservations in Sheridac, not shediac. Just how long of a commute would it be each day to the festival, ( hypothetically !) I mean if they drove really fast!
Luckily, I'm just a bad speller |

It's like asking how far is the twilight zone. Sheridac is not on my map. _________________ Smarties

Where's My Name !?! Well I will be ther for sure anyway
I was looking at the NB tourism book with my family, seeing what was around the area we are staying at the week before the festival, ( Deer Island,) We noticed that the town nearby is the chocolate capital of Canada Then I started checking out what festivals were going on during that time. It will be chocolate festival the whole week we are in the area MAN IS THIS GOING TO BE A GREAT VACATION !!!
Also HERE is a link to the tourism guide I am talking about. It is really helpful for planning you trip to NB. I had one mailed to me but you can also download them at the site. The eastern edge of the "Fundy Coastal Drive" and the southern edge of the "Acadian Coastal Drive" are the areas nearest Dieppe. Those two sections will have the most helpful info. |

If you plan to camp of find a cabin, do it asap as most of them are reserved during this time of the year. |
I just want to pitch my little tent at the festival field. Will that be ok? Backpacking is my thing. I'd rather do that then hotel. Plus, then I can satisfy my 3 a.m. flying urges

The kite field will be locked and guarded during the night but there are camp grounds around here too. Let me find some info on that. |
Got any info on this? I'm tryin to talk the gf into coming. Hopefully we'll be able to attend. _________________ Chris Taylor

Grant, do you still have the contact where you reserve your cabin in Shediac?
Also, you can reserve a room at the University residences. Contact Ted Gaudet for more information at ted.gaude@nbnet.nb.ca. _________________ Smarties

We had just planned on going up for the kite festival. Then I started checking out the tourism info that MM and Smarties sent me. What a beautiful area. We are now going up for a total of 17 days We are staying on Deer Island for a week, ( further west,) and then in Shediac for the week of the festival. My post about four up, has a link to a great tourism book you can download. I mention the sections that are around Dieppe. I tried to download section and only got the cover pages. There is a link on the page that will allow you to have a guide sent to you in the mail.
Get planning folks. Let's see how many kitebuilders we can get to Dieppe |
