I am interested in the MKS retreat because it is one of the closest to me.

When is the next one?
What is the format for the event? How many classes, how many students, etc.?
Who organizes it?
What is the cost to register?
What kind of accomodations are available? and where?

Who has been before and what was your first trip like?

Eh?

TIA

AND, are there hotel room costs? If so, would anybody be interested in sharing to split expenses?

Everybody is in a large confrence room and there ususlay is 2 major projects, one of which is ususaly lead by an instructor from out of the area.

It is held in the confrence room of a hotel, the last few years it was at the Four Points by Sheraton Bethesda but it may not be there as I have not gotten the info for this year's event.

I have attended several times and I go back every year as I learn so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I get to see great kite buddies like CJQ and SteveF sets up and sells parts for the kites.... aslo Valerie Govig shows up and sells kite books!!!!!!!!!

Yes if you want to sleep somewhere.......... They do lock up the confrence room at about 11:00 or midnight so you are forced to get some sleep.

IIRC rooms were about $75 per night and they waved the $5 per day parking fee.

I normaly share a room with Paul LaMasters to save a few $$$$$$ If you are flying into the area from Kansas, let me know and I will try to find you a ride from the airport to save a little $$$$$$$ I would recomed Dulles or as an alternate there is also National and BWI but it is further away.

Another question. Site says the dates are 18-21 Feb. Is there a more detailed agenda available? Does it begin on the morning or afternoon of the 18th? What time on the 21st does it finish? Or are those arrival/departure dates with all the classes on the 19/20?

I am not certain the form on the website is working. I sent my contact information a couple weeks ago and have not yet heard back.
