The glass shops in my town say they never have large pieces of glass to give away. So that Ikea desk doesn't sound bad. Unfortunately, there isn't an Ikea near here. |

I like the desk too. Looks easy and fun, like most of Ikea's stuff.

she wants to do our entire new house with Ikea....step up from Walmart but not as costly as Thomasville or Ethan Allen

I happened across one at my local IKEA - table was on sale from $399 to $99 - tempered glass, metal legs with wheels and a metal rack to place my templates on.
I'm undergoing a renovation of my 'hobby~shop' at home (been flying not building) but can't wait to get this 4 X 6 table up and running.
If you see one at your local IKEA - grab one, they are being discontinued.

I just saw on the news this morning that another Ikea location is opening. The new location (pending township approval) should be located in Canton, Michigan. A quick 40 miles from my house _________________ Mark

Ah Ikea....the Swedish K-Mart
Seriously, Ikea has some really great deals on truly nice merchandise. Gotta be careful with some of their particle board stuff, but my wife and I have been big fans of theirs for years. It was a happy day when we discovered one had been opened in New Haven, less than 20 minutes away from us. My kite room has recently undergone some upgrades too, due in large part to stuff from Ikea (can't beat their desk trestles ) |
