I think I would sleve the sleve with regular RSN . Creat a new sleve slightly smaller in dia. sew the end(top) shut, install it with pole ,all the way to the top. Remove the pole and stitch across the existing top to secure the incert. Use a peice of insg. cloth to edge bind the two sleves at the bottom. Just a thought.
