Well all my parts are cut and the instructions are written for my class, my bags are packed, the truck is gassed up, the cigars and whiskey are packed. I think I'm ready to leave for Rockaway Beach Oregon tomorrow for the Kite makers retreat Yahoo! _________________ Robkite

Hey,
I'll see you at the Camp. I am packing the car and will be ready to leave right after 11 in the morning. (I have to work a three hour shift). I am planning on having fun, fun, fun!! Scott Spencer is allowing me to TA for him. It should be an interesting class.
See you there.

Well,
I didn't get out of town until after 3:00. But, that was a good thing because I got a frantic call from another attendee who had left some paperwork she needed at her house. She was lucky I had stopped at the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau to see if they had anything for me to take up for the Retreat.
Anyway, I finally made it up there and the fun began.
I was Scott's TA in his Della Porta class and I finished the kite, made a pretty bag, and sewed a fringe tail. Later, new daddy, Arnold,
showed me how he did the fringes on his fringe tails. It quickly became a group effort and it really looks great.
I also was in Rob's class and made a Baden-Powell complete with flames. I will admit I was the last to finish their kite but it was due to outside forces. (all the people talking to me!!)
My last kite was a Russian Weather Kite. I was also the last to finish. Darn, I really tried to sew quicker but it was such a small kite that I had to be really careful to get everything square. (Maybe I was a little too careful and should have just worked on increasing my speed. )
Oh well, I am really tired and must finish checking my emails then it is off to bed.
(A really tired but happy) knotronda |
