I am finishing the Chinese Character Della Porta and want to get all of the scrunch wrinkles, ( from pushing it through the sewing machine to do the applique,) out of the sail. I remember people mentioning ironing the Ripstop sail, but was wondering what setting they put their iron on, ( I would assume no steam ) I have to bridle and do the tail and then it will be done. I'll post photos in the SL section when I am finished |

I use the setting called "Nylon". I don't think they make irons with an "Icarex" setting yet. |

Lowest heat that removes the wrinkles...
If it is fabric that is not in kite form yet, I just wrap it around something round i.e. a broom handle, an empty mailing tube or a piece of PVC pipe. I tape it on at the start and pull it snug.
Tape it in place and leave for a day or two and the wrinkles will go away. _________________ VR/

I use an ordinary iron on the lowest heat setting.
You have to remember that creases are the same as stitching. When the kite is up in the air nobody will be able to spot them anyway. _________________ Regards

Another way to remove wrinkles on a kite is to fly it........... _________________ VR/
