Just stumbled upon this web page of Japanese Kites by Pete Rondeau.
http://www.gettysburg.edu/library/news/exhibits/kite_exhibit.dot
I've know Pete a long time and he is a fine craftsman, and an AKA Grand Champion.

Pete's Seven Gods of Good Fortune kite is a MASTERPIECE!!!
It is probably the kite that motivated me to pay attention to the details in my kite building!!!
the amount of work that went into "Elvis" (his dragon headed centipede kite) is amazing!!!!!
He learned how to vacuum form plastics, so he could make the eyes!!!!
Sadly, it appears that the display was taken down in December of 2006...
If you get a chance to see his kites up close, take LOTS of photos!!!! his attention to detail is amazing.
I have a few photos, that I might scan and post here.... if I get around to it... _________________ VR/

Wow, you're going to make my head swell...
That exhibit was supposed to be up for a few months but the library liked them so much it stayed up for almost a year.
But, hey, anytime you guys want to see them come on over. lol
Seriously though- just re-upped with the AKA and expect to see you all in Gettysburg!

And deservedly so...... some super graphics.
I know the effort I put into my simple graphics and shudder at the thought of the hours you must put in.
Well done. _________________ Pete
