Greetings, I am in the process of building an exact duplicate of the Sauls Barrage Kite (K1) and have encountered some difficulty obtaining supplies. I'd appreciate any assistance on finding the following:
a: obtaining 7inch (17mm) x .7 inch (17mm) x 10.3 FT Spruce Spars
b. obtaining .7inch (17mm) x 1.18 inch (30mm) x 5 FT Spruce Spars
*I though about just using oak but was concerned with the weight and figured, if I'm going to do this authentically, I might as well just use square spruce (once description I read stated "long grain spruce".

c: aircraft fabric

For the sheet metal attachments-I'm handcrafting these myself and will paint them olive green.

Question Thanks in advance. Confused

Your list of materials sounds like pretty stock stuff for model and full size aircraft scratch builders. If you live in a large city, you should have good luck in finding them simply by calling up your local EAA chapter. Or, go talk to a local aircraft flight training school. Usually alot of homebuilders hang around there.

Hope that helps, but probably not Confused

I'll post pictures as I progess. I made a Barrage Kite out of Ripstop/wood dowels about 20+ years ago. Will post the photo of this next time I fly it.

Regarding RobinsonsCrusoe-it's the name of my boat.
