|
|
I'm hoping somebody on the forum happens to own a micrometer AND a REV with the SLE and can tell me the outer and inner diameter of the SLE and the standard REV down spar. I want to get some PEKR fittings to match these spars.
Thanks _________________ Chuck

I assume you mean the Revolution 1.5 SLE kite NOT the Revolution 1 SLE kite.
I have a digital and a dial caliper at home.
I have some rev SLE spars.
I dont think I have any stock down spars...............
If I rememember when I get home I will try to measure what I have....
Have you asked this question over at GWTW as there are more sport kite pilots there than here...it might get you a quicker response if I dont remember to measure some tonight. _________________ VR/

Yes, Rev 1.5 SLE outer and inner diameter. Someday I'll get a micrometer. It would probably help me with checking bike parts as well!
I'll corss post over to GWTW quad thread as well.
Thanks. _________________ Chuck

Get a digital or dial caliper for a lot less, but of course they are not as accurate.
HERE is a dial type that Steve sells. _________________ VR/

My rev 1.5 SLE measured out:
Leading Edge 0.483" OD, 0.433" ID
Vertical Tube 0.310" OD, 0.249" OD with the Ultralight sticker on it. _________________ VR/

Just for future ref. Micrometers can't measure ID only OD and thickness of material. Unless you get adaptors but then you're just as accurate as a good pair of calipers. I was a machinist for a few years at a tool and die shop and still have a lot of my measuring tools. most of my stuff is brown & sharp. I also have a few starrett indicators and a 0-1" micrometer from them. Really if you're not using these tools day in and day out I'd suggest just picking up a cheap set and having them calibrated. I know you can get a set of 6" calipers for around $20 and that's all you really need for measuring spars. _________________ Chris Taylor

I agree with Chris, who is not....a fool
I have both Dial calipers and Digital Calipers that I use to measure kite spars... Which ever pair is closer to me in the KiteCavrin.
I do not own a micrometer as I do not use them often enough nor do I need to be that accurate in what I do...
Now if I could just find an affordable milling machine and lathe so I colud make my own connectors, I would be all set.... _________________ VR/
