I recently received 2 old tents due to a posting online. One of them was actually Ripstop nylon and the other was normal taffeta. After ripping apart the Ripstop tent, I found the manufacturers tag. It is actually 2 oz RSN.
1. Would this be too heavy to use in an airfoil?
2. Could i maybe just use it for the profile ribs?
3. Or should I just make a big ground display goldfish as the material is International Orange? _________________ Mark
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer.

You can make an FF or similar no problem. Trust me, I know. The tent I used was even heavier. It just takes more wind to fly it, but that's fine.
Double and triple check the direction of the bias when you cut your shapes. The fabric I used is quite stretchy along the bias. So, the keels on my FF stretch a lot. I'm going to add dacron stips to try and stop it.
Ground display would be pretty cool too.
