If after all of that, I would ask the person I bought it from for a replacemnet.
Write down the batch number and make sure they dont send you one from the same batch..... it could be a problem with a batch.... _________________ VR/

Forgive me if these problems have already been addressed, I'm new and seem to be spending WAY too much time trying to catch up, lol.

Your 120 thread is roughly equal to a V-20- V-24, or T-20-24, or hsb 24 nylon. Depending on the manufacturer. Minimum needle size would be a 75/11, (I'd go a size bigger).
If you are looking for the equivilent to V-30 - V-35, go with an 80 thread, and 70/10 or larger needle.
And for heavier work, a size 60 would equal a V-45 plus, run an 80/12 needle or bigger.
Hope this helps a little in finding the right combos.
I have way more data on this subject, just need to put it in a table for posting.

Hi Guys and gals,
going back many years now we had a problem with a particular batch of thread. We brought in the supplers to deal with the problem and seemingly this batch had been overbleached.
This wont solve the problem of your faulty thread but will hopefully give you an idea what is wrong , and then go ahead and ditch the spool.
TTFN,
Selwyn |

I ordered a 4oz. spool of V33 from Steve, sewing Texlon (Polyester) on a stunt kite, what size of needle should do the job on the sail..
And for the Dacron LE-1.5oz Nylon..TE.. |

Match the needle to the thread. For #33 thread, some builders use the #11 sharp pointed needle but I usually prefer and recommend the #14 .
Dont use a ball point, be sure it is a sharp point. A #14 jeans needle works great too... it is extra sharp.
