If you haven't seen this before, or are wondering about various applique methods, take a look at this:
http://www.kitebuilder.com/inventory/sprayglu.htm
Great Info SteveF!!
I came across this earlier today. Then, I went out and bought some spray glue and some paint thinner. Definatly makes the job easier No more glue stick for me!!!
The store didn't have number 75, just number 76 and 77. So, I bought Elmers spray glue instead. Wonderfull stuff. Low tack and very easy to clean off with the thinner. And it holds the pieces perfectly in place.
Cheers,

Dont forget to compare a can of 3m's Spray Mount too...
And for safety sake, HERE is the MSDS for 3M's Spray mount. BTW it is 30-40% Acetone, so that is probally the best solvant to remove any oopsies.
Prog,
I can send you a can or PM me your address and I'll reinburse you for the price of a can. Cheeper for me as postage would be less.
The reason I say this is I have tried the DM and 3M stuff and prefer the 3M... but have not tried Elmers.
BTW there are LOTS of diffent aerosoal adhesives on the market. Diffrent formulas. _________________ VR/

Ok, the spray glue comparison test will soon be on. I'll find a can of the 3m number 75 glue as well and add that to the testing.
Here's what I was thinking of doing.
1) Time to dry. How long do you have to wait for a light spray to become the right dryness to be useable.
2) Ease of seperating the pieces for cutting.
3) Ease of cleaning overspry.
4) Needle gumming factor.
5) Stink factor
6) Sticking to your skin factor.
7) Sticking the neighbors cat to the wall factor. Oh, wait. maybe not that one
Any others?

also try a can of the duro brand from wmart on the paint isle, cheap I think about $4.95 USD I like it, easy to find, use, reposition, drys pretty quick enough to use. hold well enough to scruntch 3 layers and refold to be able to sew. _________________ Randy

Speaking of prices, I'll be sure to add that to the list of comparison. As well as the 'scrunch test'

How about a way to test holding power?
Isn’t that why we buy adhesives????
On the overspray removal, you should test several thinners:
Acetone (the strongest naturally occurring solvent)
Goo Gone (as I like the citrus sent and is kinder to the human body than Acetone)
Bestene rubber cement thinner (it is the standard here in the DC area) from most art stores.
Paint thinner (Available all around the world)
And a run thru the washing machine with Synthrapol detergent.
Progcraft,
Please PM me with your address so I can send you a few US$ to defray the cost of materials. _________________ VR/
