What kind of Hemostats do you have?
How do you use them?
I have MANY pairs that I have picked up over the years from a small 4" pair to a set that are probally 15" long.
I use them in kite building to pick knots appart, to tie knots and to grab small pieces of fabric when dooing reverse applique work.
My favorites are sold a Fisherman's Forceps by anglers' choice and are 5" long with cushion grips. I got the ones with the large eyes as I have sausage like fingers. Part number AH5-011 and have black vinyl on the eyes. If you find them buy them!!!!!!!!! my local tackle shop only reorders them once in a blue moon and I only have one spare pair right now.
BTW I have found forceps in Tackle shops, fabric stores sold to insert needles into sergers, flea markets, Army surplus stores and EMT supply stores among other places. _________________ VR/

Just keep finding them at the beach. They always have blackened tips as if they were used to hold smoldering objects.
I found one pair while riding a horse in the mountains. Of course the horse stepped on them while I dismounted, so they have an odd shape.
Most of these freebies are small ones, so the long-reach jobs came from the local swap meet. A vendor there sells piles of surgical tools, Dremel bits and other booty. The hemostats are about $3-$5 and made in Pakistan. |

All the high end model shops around here sell them in several sizes. So do the fly-tying supply shops.

tie/untie knots
measure loops of line when making sport kite linesets
moving the line attatchment loops on kites with loops to change the tow point for wind conditions
retriving small parts
holding the thread when sewing so it doesn't pull out of the needle when I start (I cut it too close)
pulling splinters
holding line that I want to cauterize with a cig lighter
threading drawstring bags
holding insects that my boys want me to inspect
fetching vinyl End Caps
holding two pieces of cloth together while I get the rest of the seam lined up
removing unwanted hair
any of the fishing uses mentioned above when I take my two little men fishing
I no longer carry them in my leatherman pouch, I am tired of being accused of the burnt end use also mentioned above _________________ Randy
