Good observation, Tradewinds.
I can't see how you can effeciently heat the wire through the solder.
If it was the bee's knees, they'd be in tool stores instead of QVC.

Hmmm. You could: Light charcoal, melt your neighbor's car, "fix" the cat, engrave your initial in all your kites at the same time and scare hell out of your friends out west (Hey Dave, watch this!!!!  )

So, did someone actually buy one of these thngs? Did it work as advertised or is it sitting in the bottom of your toolbox?
