The application is trailing edge binding on stunt kites. I've built a few kites with cold cut edges and I'll see how well they stand up. I've had single folded cold cut edges fray on deltas and rokkakus. _________________ Gentle breezes...

Kitesquid,
Until I put my glasses on , that photo with the leather weights looked like you were making pancakes on a black iron griddle.

You must be hungry also...
They are my favorite weights as I can PLOP em in place and they dont shift my work arond..
EXPENSIVE but worth it..
Lead shot is not cheep and to make a dozen weights I used almost 2 bags...
the Leather is from Tandy Leather and is their chaps/moccasins grade split cow hide.... Also avaiable in several colors....
From their web site:
Our best suede splits, without pinholes or brands, for long-lasting, good-looking chaps, aprons, moccasins and saddle seats. These 4 to 5 oz. splits are buffed to a buckskin-like suede. It is soft, supple, has remarkable wearability. Sold by the skin. Select splits average 11 sq. ft.
And are on sale untill June 30... _________________ VR/
