Well, since the competition is tommorow, I'll let you in on what each kite will be made from...
Some details on rules:Completed kites will be judged as per AKAkite building contest rules.
All kites MUST fly to be considered for entry.
Only kites built from the parts kit obtained from Kite Studio will be considered for entry.
Parts from the kit MAY be omitted from the final kite.
The only items that may be added to the kit are:
- Additional fabric for appliqué of designs
- Thread
- Bridle, tensioning and flying lines.
Kites will only be judged on May 1st at the Sullivan County Kite Festival, in Loch Sheldrake, NY
Kites may be entered via proxy.
The kit contains the following items:
Three Yards of Ripstop: red, yellow, and blue
Six RET40 Epoxy Spars
One RET248 Epoxy Spar
Three RSF09 solid fiberglass spars
One foot of .09” clear tubing
One foot of .31” clear tubing
One foot of 1” Velcro
One yard of 1” webbing
One yard of 2” Dacron
Six .09” End Caps

Are you going to try to post pictures of the kties created from the mystery bag of parts? I'd like to see what the folks come up with....at least the best and worst entries.

Thanks for posting these Jeremy, I didnt get many photos but I knew somebody did!
Thanks also for inviting me to take part in this event. It was a lot of fun to see all the DIFFERENT creations from the same kit. Everyone did a great job with a task that was not easy.
Congratulations to Art St.Pierre , Beth Bowen, and Joe Tricarico in taking first place with a very unique design with excellent craftsmanship and great Flight & Visual Appeal. I urged them to take this kite into additional competition. They did a great job.
