Yes, folks, from all the trash talk going down, this is shaping up to be the grudge match of the year.
It's EAST versus WEST!! It's BRAWN versus FINNESS! It's David versus Goliath!
That's right, floks! Come on down to Wildwood where you'll see these two guys thowing Roks at each other like it's LIFE OR DEATH! The challenges will be flying and so will the sand when these two fighters CRASH into each other with RED in thier eyes and MURDER in their hearts! You know who I'm talking about...
YES, IT'S THE ROKKAKU MASTERS - HAROLD "THE FREIGHT TRAIN" AMES and DAVE "BRING IT ON" GOMBERG.
Are they ready for each other? You be the judge! |

To even things up we could tie Dave to an anchor from say a US Navy Cruser....
BTW I was informed by Mike Mosman that he will be bringing a cow bell for me.... _________________ VR/

Harold, you must never never never let your battle strategy be known by David. He is a wiley and clever opponent. If you show any weakness at all, or if you get into a sticky situation, be forewarned that David "He who takes no prisoners" Gomberg will swoop in and make you regret you ever stepped foot on the battle field.
Gombysan may be shorter but he is older and has more insurance. Oops, wrong movie. Remember, the bigger you are, the harder you fall. I seem to remember seeing a picture of someone going 'bum' over tea kettle. Where is that picture? Oh, I'm sure someone out there has it somewhere ready to pop it back into circulation.
You have been given my heartfelt advise so the only thing left to say is "Go out there and make the Old Man wish he had gotten some young boys to do his running!!" Have fun! Wish I could be there to cheer you on.

Does anyone know whagt time this great meeting is going to occur.
I'll be in Cape May, just down the Parkway, over that weekend. Even though I plan to spend some time at WIKF, I don't want to miss this battle!!
Good winds....Charlie |

Charlie, IIRC the "ofical" Rokkaku battles times are in the next post...
There is no schedualed time for the "Battle of the Titans" as of yet.... has someone contacted Roger about a field if we can fit it in?????
Ronda,
My first ever rokkaku battle was team with Dave at Nationals in Muncy. We won and I went on stage and took the tropy away and still have it in the Kite Cave....
I learned a lot from Dave.
Like how to cut his line.. Twice at nationals in Dayton.......
I also know how to hide my strategy.... 20 years in the Navy taught me a lot!!!!!!!!!!!
If we do have a private battle what is the worst that can happen??? I could come in second place......
BRING IT ON!!!!!
Stevef,
This thread actualy started on another forum and Mike thought it would be a good idea to bring it over here too... and Dave is responding to it over there... _________________ VR/

Squid:
Thanks for the post on the time. Now I know I have time to get myself together before I drive up from Cape May.
Since you're fighting Dave, it will be easier to find you on the field instead of looking for you at the BBQ on Friday night. It's hosted by my club, so I'll be there.
Good winds...CharlieB |
