The Hammonasset Kite festival is in beautiful, large, flat Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT. It is a great location for this laid back kite festival. The only competition is the Rokkaku Battles. Otherwise it is just a 'show up and show off' event.

Well,
The festival was awesome.... The wind average was around 2 mph and it was really foggy.. but being from Nova Scotia I am used to it and the lack of wind was only a minor inconnvienience . We had a great time and met some great people!
Thanks to Gary for all the introductions and advice on the Rokkaku Battle field. This was my first battle and I am hooked..
Here are some pictures http://www.steadywinds.com/kitealbums/hammonasset2004
Cheers,

If you were flying, who took the pictures?? Some great shots Bill.
You definitely need to come to Toronto in September. We have as many as two dozen rokkakus in our corporate challenge with a crowd of 10,000 screaming people. _________________

Hi Gary,
Absolutely!! That sounds great. I have a Hummingbird Sponsorted Rok that I built; and since Toronto is Hummingbird's home it should be appropriate to battle with it
When in September is it?
Cheers,
Bill
p.s. my beautiful bride took the photos |

Wow, Bill, awesome pictures!
Thanks for coming down and supporting the Event.
Believe it or not, the wind was better Saturday than Sunday.
Oh, when I get a copy of the picture of The Knot Guy with a full bird's nest of flying after a rok battle, I'll be sure to post it.  _________________ good heavens;
